DC TDI Turbosystem
TD Tuning is proud to introduce the new line of DC Turbosystems.
The heart of the DC turbosystem is based on these three turbocharger selections: GT1852V, GT2256V, and GT2359V (select your turbocharger below) There are a plethora of additional turbochargers sourced from Mercedes products that use this same style flange & are clocked the same so the possibilities are numerous. Additionally, this allows people to source their own turbochargers since many are available used.
The system is centered around a rotationally fired exhaust manifold constructed of robust schedule 40 304 stainless steel with laser cut flanges and collector. The flanges are ½ thick cold rolled mild steel. It has been back-purged and TIG welded to ensure long-life. This combination was chosen due to the fact that stainless has a much lower heat transfer rate than mild steel, but also has a higher expansion rate making it less desirable for flanges. The mild steel flanges keep the manifold rigid and control expansion.
The exhaust manifold itself is available separately for the DIYer and also as part of a hardware kit that provides you with the essentials to put your own system together. This includes the exhaust manifold, downpipe, V-band clamps, oil return line, turbocharger brace, silicone connectors, and associated nuts/bolts.
The turbo exhales through a 3 304 stainless steel downpipe with fully lined flex section and is terminated in an exhaust grade 304 stainless v-band connection which can easily be mated to the factory catalytic converter, or joined to a replacement mid-pipe. This 3 downpipe will fit the GT1852V & GT2256V: However, the big GT2359V has a 3.5 turbine outlet and therefore may use a 3.5 or 3 downpipe and requires a different larger V-band. Other turbos available vary in outlet design and are different between the turbocharger selections. DC can make you custom downpipes for other turbos that fit their manifold by request also.
