The 134hp B5.5 Passat PD TDI came from the factory with a Garrett turbo that provides much more overall potential than those used on the North American PD100 engines. Running 20 psi stock, it is no slouch.
Our stage 1 tune only increases boost pressure slightly to about 21 psi, but takes advantage of the significant margin in the relatively lean air/fuel mixture to create a noticeable improvement in power without huge clouds of smoke.
The following options are available:
-EGR Delete (for off-road use only!)
-Intake manifold flap (shutter valve) delete (also for off-road use only!)
If you need something custom, don’t be afraid to ask!
This tune is available (and recommended for use) with our OBD port programmer. The flasher will allow you to program the ECU yourself, right through the diagnostic port without ever lifting the hood. We can also send you upgrades and adjustments through e-mail. You'll also be able to return your ECU to stock for service purposes, etc. If VCDS (Vag-Com) is available to you then we can also customize the tune for your specific vehicle.
