Our stage 1 tuning software for the MK4 chassis PD cars offers a modest increase in power with a focus on maximum turbo safety. Boost pressure is only increased to 16 psi with moderate fueling increases to accompany it. As is common knowledge, the turbos used on the stock North American PD’s are relatively small and unaccommodating to extreme power improvements. When tuning is too aggressive, exhaust gas volume and higher temperatures can easily push the turbo too hard and create a condition where the ECU can no longer control boost pressure through the stock turbine geometry. If you’re not looking to go all out with the performance of your PD, stick with one of our Stage 1 or 2 programs. If you have higher aspirations then you will need to start looking at turbocharger upgrades.
The following options are available:
-EGR Delete (for off-road use only!)
-Intake manifold flap (shutter valve) delete (also for off-road use only!)
-Steel glow plug TSB update (for converting back to the old-style steel glow plugs and ditching the problematic ceramic ones).

This tune is available (and recommended for use) with our OBD port programmer. The flasher will allow you to program the ECU yourself, right through the diagnostic port without ever lifting the hood. We can also send you upgrades and adjustments through e-mail. You'll also be able to return your ECU to stock for service purposes, etc. If VCDS (Vag-Com) is available to you then we can also customize the tune for your specific vehicle.
